Canton Fair 2026: A Silica Gel Desiccant Buyer Checklist
Factory information · 2026-10-14
Canton Fair 2026 starts on 15 October. Prepare a silica gel desiccant specification, sample criteria and packaging questions before comparing supplier quotations.
The 140th Canton Fair opens on 15 October 2026. For buyers comparing silica gel desiccants and industrial materials, the useful preparation is a written specification: application, particle size, packaging, evidence required and sample acceptance criteria. This industry update connects the official fair calendar with a practical purchasing checklist; it does not announce RUIDA's attendance or a booth.
Key points
Choose the relevant exhibition phase using the organizer's current exhibitor directory. Compare materials under the same test conditions. Confirm packaging and documentation before a purchase order, rather than relying on a booth conversation or a generic product description.
The official Canton Fair 2026 calendar
The organizer lists Phase 1 on 15–19 October, Phase 2 on 23–27 October, and Phase 3 on 31 October–4 November 2026. These dates describe the fair schedule, not the availability of a particular supplier or material. Check the official buyer guide for registration and exhibition-section information before arranging meetings.

Build a silica gel desiccant specification
Start with the environment in which the material will work. A sealed package, a storage container and an industrial drying application have different exposure and handling requirements. Record the expected moisture exposure, packing process and the condition in which samples will be tested. Do not choose a loading quantity solely from the weight of the shipped goods.
For each quotation, list the grade, particle form, particle-size range, indicator requirement and pack size. Ask which properties are included in the specification and how they are measured. A product family name alone does not establish absorption performance or suitability for your application.
Compare quotations on an equal basis
Use one comparison sheet for every supplier: proposed grade; particle size; quantity and unit; inner packing; outer packing; quoted trade term; production lead time; documents supplied; and sample test conditions. Mark a field as unconfirmed when it is missing. A lower quotation may reflect a different pack configuration or specification rather than a like-for-like price reduction.
Request a product-specific technical data sheet and safety data sheet where relevant. Ask how batch identification appears on the package and whether the sample represents the quoted grade. For a regulated application, have the responsible technical team review the required evidence; a general website description cannot replace it.
Packaging questions before dispatch
Discuss the barrier packaging, sealing method, storage instructions and what happens after opening. Confirm carton dimensions and packing weights in the quotation and shipment documents. Agree which inspection photos or packing records will be provided, and separate a trial quantity from the later commercial order.
For sample evaluation, define the test method and acceptance criteria before the sample arrives. Keep a record of the material identity, packaging condition, opening time and test conditions. This makes an unsuccessful result easier to investigate and avoids comparing measurements taken under different conditions.
Frequently asked questions
Does every silica gel grade suit the same application?
No. The purchasing decision should follow the application and an agreed specification. Confirm relevant technical properties with the supplier and evaluate a representative sample. Do not assume that a product used for one drying process automatically meets another process's requirements.
Should I select a supplier only by a trade-fair quotation?
A quotation is a starting point. Match the legal supplier identity, technical specification, sample evidence, packing details and commercial terms before placing an order. Keep the supplier's written answers with the quotation so that later purchase documents refer to the same agreed material.
Is RUIDA announcing exhibition participation?
This is an editorial buyer update based on the organizer's public calendar. It makes no claim about RUIDA exhibition participation. Contact the factory directly to discuss a specific material, samples or a possible meeting.
Discuss your project
Send RUIDA the application, required grade, particle size, quantity and packaging preference. Our team can discuss the quotation and sample requirements for that project. Technical acceptance, lead time and documentation should be confirmed in writing.
